Serena to win Aussie Open?

It is an odd year so does that mean the Australian Open crown will be Serena Williams? An ESPN scribe points out she has won it in 2003, 2005 and 2007.

However, the writer also provides evidence that women's tennis is pretty unpredictable right now. Five different players have won the last five Grand Slams. Five players have also been ranked No. 1 in the world in the last five - and not even the same five!
Anyway, the Aussie Open, which starts next week, should be fun to watch ... especially with Ana Ivanovic, Jelena Jakovic and the Williams sisters bringing sex appeal.

Can there be a chess hottie?

You know all of the jokes about chess club and that ... but:
a) Is chess a sport?
b) Can it have a hottie?
I just don't know about the first question, but if it can have a hottie, then it definitely is Alexandra Kosteniuk. This Russian beauty is compared, according to the paper where she now lives - the Miami Herald, to Anna Kournikova. I don't think she is quite Anna, but the married mother of 20-month-old daughter definitely is attractive.
