EAD 1: valid from Jan10 2005- Jan 9, 2006
on July 11, 2005 you applied for EAD 2
On July 29 , 2005 you got it approved. What will be EAD 2 's start date? 30 July , 2005 or Jan10, 2006?
If 30 July 2005, then basically you loose 6 months of time, that means you are getting EAD of 6 months duration.

Does anybody know what the best consulates (preferably in Mexico) to go for H1B stamps are? I am getting my H1-B transfer approved in the next weeks and I want to go ahead and get the passport stamp in order to travel.
My first H1-B I went to Ciudad Juarez Mexico, and unfortunately I arrived the morning of 9/11/01, I was able to cross onto Juarez shortly after they closed down the borders.. Bad experience all in all. took 4 days longer to get back home to San Antonio and had to take a bus.
In 2004 I went to the consulate in Matamoros and it was the worst. They DID not have a record of me ever having made an appt for a visa stamp (even though I called and scheduled one) and again, the whole ordeal took 3 days too long.
Does anybody know any good consulates? I was told Monterrey Mexico is very good. Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks

I e-filed My I-765 and needs to send in my supporting documentation .
On the confirmation sheet It says to send Supporting documentation to

I know there was a recent bulletin that changed the filing location of I-765 .

I am in the exact same situation. I have already filed I-140/I-485 concurrently with the substituted labor. Now the dates are current I am filling another I-485 with my approved I-140. There is nothing wrong in what we are doing, as long we explain about the earlier filling and clarify the motive of the second filling. Eventually we should withdraw one of the two based on the outcome of substituted labor/I-140.

Hi,
I am currently working on a fulltime H1B and my GC process is going on with second stage (I140) in progress. Now my old employer wants me to work parttime for them which I agreed upon but this is a possibility only if I have a parttime H1B applied w.r.t old employer which I am thinking to apply for it and work parttime. But my question here is does this effect my GC processing? If it is what are the effects? Please reply me back. Thanks a lot.

Share experience about Vonage about calling India.
Vonage, a provider of voice over Internet protocol phone service, has reached a settlement with Kentucky, Indiana and 30 other states over allegations of deceptive marketing and unscrupulous customer service procedures.
Under the agreement, Vonage will make significant changes to its marketing practices and handling of consumer cancellation requests. It also will provide refunds to eligible customers.
The company will pay the states a total of $3 million for reimbursement of legal and investigative costs. Kentuckys portion of the reimbursement is $45,000, according to a news release from Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conways office.
Vonage officials could not immediately be reached for comment.
Vonage was ordered to provide refunds to customers who did not receive rebates they believed they were due because their accounts werent open long enough to qualify or because they spent a portion of their trial periods waiting to receive or return equipment.
Refunds also will be provided to customers who were assessed excess usage charges without being informed of usage limits, received additional monthly service charges because of difficulty in canceling service, or received charges for unordered services and equipment offered as free.
Under the settlement, Holmdel, N.J.-based Vonage (NYSE: VG) must revise its disclosures for offers of free services, money-back guarantees and trial periods, according to the release. The company also must follow strict guidelines in dealing with customers wishing to cancel their service.
Through their investigation, the states found that Vonage paid bonuses to customer service representatives who retained customers. As a result, many customers had difficulty canceling their service.
Now, Vonage must record and verify conversations between customers and the companys customer service representatives, according to the release.
Vonage customers who believe they are eligible for a refund under the settlement can call the Kentucky Attorney Generals Office of Consumer Protection hotline at (888) 432-9257, or download a complaint form at Kentucky: Attorney General Jack Conway - Forms (http://ag.ky.gov/civil/consumerprotection/complaints/forms.htm).

I was in same situation, My Labor & I 140 was approved before I got married and at the time when I was applying for my wife's H4 visa and we answered it NO since none of those applications had her linked any where.
Hello,
My wife is planning to attend for a H4 Visa Re stamping. I have couple of questions regarding the visa application process. Appreciate if you can help me with my questions
1) In DS156 should my answer to the Question Has Anyone Ever Files an Immigrant Petition on your behalf be NO. FYI, my 140 is approved and waiting on 485 priority date. I dont think I gave my wifes name yet in my labor or 140 approval process
2) There is a section to be filled in VFS website called Petition Details from 797/. I assume that principal applicant would be me. However I am not sure what to fill in the following questions
Petition Receipt #
Petition Expiration date
Petitioner Name: I assume it is my company name
Is the above info to be filled in from My 797 ( case type I129)or my wifes 797( case type I539) Receipt #?
Please advice
Thanks,

I'm sure the following questions have been asked several times too. What are the answers in the following scenarios:
After 485 filing and before 180 days:
- Person loses job and is unemployed. Does the 485 stage continue? Does AP and EAD assigned to this person still continue to work?
- If this person finds another job (based on EAD or H1), does the 485 process continue? Or does the whole GC process needs to restart?

- Does the person need to be employed when the 485 stage is approved?
- Does the person need to be in the US when the 485 stage is approved?
I hope this helps other users having similar questions.
Thanks!

I am one of the unfortunate few who could not cash in on the July/Aug 2007 opportunity to file I-485 due to my Law Firm's mistake. Here are the details of my case:
- My labor was approved June 28 2007 (EB3, Traditional, Priority date March 2005)
- I-140/I-485/EAD/AP were all filed concurrently on Aug 7, 2007 (before the Aug 17th deadline)
- My Lawfirm missed the signature on the check for the I-140 application, resulting in everything being returned
- By the time the package came back, signatures were corrected and sent back , it was well after Aug 17th.
- CIS accepted the I-140 application but rejected my I-485/EAD/AP saying that there are no Visa numbers available since it was after Aug 17th.
- My Lawfirm refiled with covering letter explaining the issue, using the Fedex receipts from the original Aug 7th filing etc..but the CIS has not accepted it.
- My Employer tried a Congressional inquiry with the CIS explaining my specific case - but that came back with same response: No visa number avialability
My Lawfirm and Employer are saying - Sorry - nothing else can be done now...
I am the one suffering because of my Law firm's mistake. Is there anything else that I can do to come out of this distress?. I would very much appreciate any inputs from people who have knowledge of similar scenarios!

All,
Now that Aug is coming up, please post all the 485 LUDs that you have been seeing after 07/18/2008. This will help us getting the pattern, in case USCIS shall auto order the Card production.

Hi,
I just saw on DOL website that my PBEC labor has been approved, on the other hand my old i-140 is stuck in NSC filed Sept 9th, 2006 EB3.
My question is how can i port my old PD? Should i wait for the old i-140 to be approved and then file for the new one or is there a way i can use the old i-140 later on during the 485 filing time to port the PD?
Any suggestion will be appreciated.
Is there anyone in this situation please help:)

For that to happen a number first has to be generated! There is apparently a block (CIS-SSA name verification issue) that is preventing that from happening.
sunnymit,
I would suggest you call SSA HQ in Baltimore, MD and explain to them the situation and tell them that the SAVE system (that check your immigration status) is having possible issues with your case.
If that does not work, send a certified mail to the local office supervisor and SSA HQ.
got to the SSN office with ur receipt, tell them you are waiting for ...... long for the card. you need the number to give to the employer. most of the officers would look in the system and would give you the number.
