I doubt it. My sense is that USCIS has already processed most of EB2-I cases until early 2004 - based on approval trend seen on IV, Murthy Forum, and a ton of personal friends. If it goes back it may go back to Fall 2004 time frame.

I-140 IS NOT PORTABLE. PD is portable.
You can get 7th year extension to your H1 transfer to caompany B based on your I-140 approval from previous compnay. You have to file new LC and I-140 from your new company and while filing I-140, you port your old PD by providing your old I-140.

Seriously I don't care - my personal opinion that in this particular case it is none of our ( India's ) business to meddle in Sri Lankan affairs when they are on the verge of getting rid of a menace they have . Terrorism is not a solution of anything . Only peaceful times can bring happiness and prosperity.

People should post only after reading complete SL history and how minorities were suppressed. One point of time GOI supported and funded and trained LTTE. The problem for India as well as Sri Lankan Tamils is lack of strong/tough/clever leader like Indra Gandhi. The problem for SL tamils are the "ego" of Prabakaran. He himself wants to be a only leader and not yielding to anyone and not willing to compramise. The LTTE is necessary evil to solve this issue. Without them, one can not find a peace solution. Though, they did lot of mistakes and criminal activites, they needed in negotiation. All political parties in TN and GOI is playin drama in view of election. The H1b rules and Cap are framed based on the principle that foreigners will be allowed only when there are no avialblity of skilled persons for that job. That is the reason For LCA and salary requirements. You can very well google that why H1b visa was created on 1991. Everyone in congress and also american public expects that American jobs should not be replaced by foreigners. But when there is no clear cut job position there could be foreigner could be hired just because he quotes 10 dollar less than American but same skills.

I have had 2 friends, one from my Engineering college and another who was a co-worker in SFO. The first one had joined Amway in India and the other one Quixstar in Bay Area.
Both told me that they were brainwashed by the up-line members and they were forced to go through the cds, books, and their guidelines on regular basis. This is in their own words. I am not making it up. And both of them told me that they have lost number of friends and acquaintances since they joined Quixstar/Amway.
May be it is a business that you can join to flourish and prosper. But I believe the operating mechanism of Quixstar is wrong. A group should be like - people should feel an urge within themselves to come and join and make the full use of it.
Running a business itself is not bad. But when it is run and operated by covert, hidden and superficial attitude - that's when people start to feel the repulsion.
My intention is not to attack Kushal or anybody else.
Sure with dead bobhead braincells of yours, nobody expects your self image to be high enough. Its not for wimps wearing zippers to the side like you. If you are man enough come and talk to me, and will see who gets handcuffed.

I remeber how brutal Imran used to be to Indian openers with his deadly in-swinger. Those were days of good cricket ... a classy cricket. Outside cricket Imran still commands respect for being honorable and honest person.
On other hand our Azhar is one of those who will sell his own mother for money. A disgrace to cricket world. Comparing him to Imran is like comparing Lion in Jungle to a Hyenna ( no disrespect to reading Hyenna).
Few years back bunch of cricketers originating from AP here in MI sponsored him and his wife to visit here. I was invited by come and shake hand and photograph with this bookie and his beautiful wife. Majority of people having self-respect politely rejected the invitation. Now I hear he is trying to become bookie in New Delhi. Good Luck!

I would suggest using your own checks for I-485. This way, once USCIS will cash your checks, and if you have online banking - you will see the receipt numbers on the back of the checks. This way you will be able to see your application status right away. It was very critical (at least for me) during June/July tsunami of applications, as I received the actual receipt pretty late.
Also, don't count on that EAD, it will be safe to invoke AC21 only after 180 days and having approved I-140. You have good chance to have your AOS adjudicated. In this case you will have to stay with your current employer for at least another 6 months. If you will leave before 180 days and your GC will be approved, then AC21 will not apply and your GC will be revoked.
I also learned a lot on IV :)

If IV succeeds ROW waiting times will also be significantly reduced due to combination of visa number increase and recapture. That should be the incentive for ROW.

I am in same boat of HR and company Lawyer (with no control over submission date).
God willing� soon we will all receive a receipt number for I485. There are some calculated risks which are unavoidable.

Here is my case, Company A filed Labor GC for me, Labor filed 04/2004, I-140 approved 06/07, I485 filed 07/07.
Company A got aquired by company B in 11/07, Company B filed 3 year extension on H1B based on approved I-140 approved H1B.
Now company B filed amendment to approved I 140- My questions-
Is my I 140 still aproved or it will start all over?
I am planning to change the company coming October, Can I change the company at this stage. Will it affect my AOS in adverse way.

I need to take care of if I want to switch the job.

nope. The august bulletin which gets released mid july didn't get into our arguements at all. We were specifially talking about july filers and july month.
