Great, please contact pappu. He is a part of the core group. I have already contacted him. BTW do you have PHP exp?
I can work on this over a weekend. However, the contribution information is known only to the core group. So someone in the core group will have to enter contribution info into the database and set up the procedure call to return only the member level and not the contribution amount to shield info.

One of my friends wanted to travel abroad, and her lawyer asked her not to, it because she would lose her H1 status. I guess even the same thing is mentioed on Murthy's web site too, where it was mentioed that it better to get your H1 stamped, if you do not want to lose H1.
So, I am surprised to hear that we could travle on AP, and also come back and extend our H1.

People travelling to India, especially from the West coast should fly via the Pacific. Asian airlines such as Thai, Cathay and Asiana all offer better fares, better service and faster transit times.Plus these countries are not trying to fleece people by requiring that they get a "Direct Airside Transit Visa". It happened with my family when they reached the airport to board their flight on Virgin , they were not allowed.I then bought tickets on Thai for the next day. To compound the pain, Virgin imposed a "No Show" fee on each ticket despite going to the airport. I think it would be best to avoid most European carriers, if for no other reason but they offer higher fares, terrible service, long transit times and last but not the least; the scam of the century(Airport Transit Visas). What do they think the passengers will try to do, jump off the walkway and make a run for it so they can settle illegally in U.K!I think the U.K govt is running out of ways to make money so they have found the most ridiculous way to make a few extra pounds from people foolish enough to travel on one of their carriers! DONT FLY VIA U.K. PERIOD!

We see a lot of these articles every day praising illegal immigration. How about creating a google group with volunteers that will pick up such similar articels and post a rebuttal, either online or through another website?
The one we discussed yesterday was about how illegals contribute to the economy by paying $1.5 Billion in income tax for an estimated 15-20 million illegals.
This was estimated from the 2010 Census data.
We could initially post these rebuttals online on probably a section of the IV website and also send it to other news sites.
People who are good at parsing excel/MDB, csv sheets will be useful.
Most people are not aware of our issues and contributions to society.
Good idea.
What we need is:
1- A document about the economic impact legal immigrants are making (H1, L1, EAD etc). It should include estimates of Federal, state, SS tax and sales taxes. You can also include estimates how we can impact economy by buying houses. Use the research document used by another organization someone posted yesterday to understand how such documents are written. Get some number crunchers and people with good writing skills in your team. There was a google group created by GC_peshwa yesterday. I think this group could do such proactive work. Set your timelines and work on it. You can post updates of your group on the forum so that others know about it and can join if interested. Once you finish the document, it can be sent as a release and also sent to reporters and lawmakers.
2. This group can also work on your idea from the post by posting on other news sites.
I think these are the kind of action items our community must be doing proactively. What we see on forums and websites are people wasting time on trackers, useless discussions on anti H4, EB2EB3, Andhra, spillover fights, pulling each other down etc. Such shameful posts either shows that these people do not really care about greencard issue or are just plain ignorant. Very rarely do we see someone thinking beyond their own case and PD. This is the main reason in my opinion why everyone is suffering from backlogs. It is not the fault of USCIS or government or any one else. The reason is each one of us that thinks narrowly and has chosen to accept the problem rather than doing something about it. As IV members it is our responsibility to help make people aware and urge them to work together on something meaningful that would help the community.
Thanks for taking this initiative. Good luck. Let us know whenever you need help. Others that are interested should express interest on the thread and join the group.

Why dont you just work for your new employer in december on voluntary basis and take the salary in Jan as a signon bonus?. This way you will have a clean record of 6 months on H1.
because its illegal to work for an employer you are not authorized to work for.

You should have done this at least 6 months before your I-94 expiry date so that you could have used automatic Visa revalidation to reenter US after which you could have handed over your I-94 and left Canada by plane.
Now that you're running out of options, my suggestion is that you leave US by plane and find alternatives to transport your car. This is a surefire way to get your records updated.
Don't even bother about following up with attorneys or mailing the documents to "ACS - CBP SBU" as it's all time consuming and complicated. If the CBP didn’t update their records due to whatever reason, then the onus is on you to prove that you didn’t overstay your I-94.
Refer http://www.amcits.com/form_i-94.asp and search for “What If No One Takes Your I-94 Form Upon Departure”
Geez...you cant even abandon this country in peace. Even after you give up on your greencard process and relocate your life to another country, there is still a complicated mess of paperwork to be done - mail I-94 here, fill this form, fill that form, prove that you didnt overstay your stay, this whole new thing about Kentucky where I-94 needs to be mailed, and worst case, you have to come back again and take a plane just so someone would collect this stupid little piece of 3rd grade recycled paper card called the I-94 ? WTF ?
I'd be mad at this process and if I was leaving this country for good, and if they told me that I have to take a airline flight just so the might lords of CBP would be kind enough to collect my I-94 that they wont collect on the land border on highway, then I would not go thru that maze and mail that I-94 to Kentucky or wherever the hell is that place and leave it be.

It was a massive Rs.8000 crore fraud. This is bad for India, Inc. But I don;t think this will affect outsourcing. The other firms like TCS, Infosys, Wipro will merely pick up Satyam's clients.

I filed mine on May 12 and sent to Phoenix Lock box and had the same issue. My checks are not cashed and am going through the same pain as you do. My lawyer suggested its not unusual to have these delays and it could take upto 4 weeks for the receipt notice to come. I am still tensed as the checks are not cashed and there is no receipt for the renewal. Please let me know how you are proceeding or find any new info
I will also share updates from my end
Thanks alot
I am in the same situation, my application was received on 5/11/2010. Checks are not chashed yet, my lawyer advised me to refile online after one week if filing fee is not an issue. She thinks the delay is unusual and if we are nearing the expiration date, just re-file online.

Question...see below in bold
The issue is that my company lawyer said that there will be a need for a visa stamping done for the extension because of the Last action rule. The murthy forum reference is something I dug up via google.
Because the extension will be for a future date (March 1).
-- Question: Is this extension based on I-140 is different than the extension you get for the second 3 year out of 6 year? If not, then why I-94 can not be given date adding the extension of 3 year ?
Current visa stamp is till Feb 28, 2007. So if the officer gives a new I-94 with Feb 28, 2007 as the validity date, the attorneys claim that it will invalidate the approved extension due to a "Last Action Rule".
It is hard to trust these corporate lawyers.

Do you have the offer letter where he said he would pay 60K? If he didnt formally terminate your job, then he is liable to pay wages. Just make him call you 1-2 times and you also call him 1-2 times. This will demonstrate the employer employee relationship existed according to phone books.
Anyways, if you want to change jobs, just do it, why are u even telling him? How did he find out? Change your address and Phone number and let him bark :) If he doesnt have your address, he cant serve you a notice . Thats it :)

You can appeal quoting your friend got approved. I have seen in the past, people got their approvals in appeal.

I am not sure if this can be a good defense for ability to pay issues. Employer's revenue/profits drive the number of employees that can be sponsored for GC. It is not everyone or no one scenario.

I like your optimistic attitude but unfortunately I dont share it because of past and current behavior of USCIS, like for instance how they willfully disregarded the 180 day name check memo. Do you really believe them when they say name check will be cleared in 2009, just like the current name check memo the fbi name check clearance will be thrown in a dustbin. If by a miracle name check is solved they will come up with some other check delay for example IBIS name check delay. the bottom line is if there is a will there will be a way, USCIS has no will what so ever to help us. Good luck to everyone but just build a reservoir of patience because if you have hope on USCIS you will pay dearly.
USCIS is trying to make EB2 all countries Current sometime during FY 2009. Of course "a few" 2004, 2005 cases will still be pending past Oct08 but hopefully not too many.
If EB1 and EB2 are shown as current soon, then the DOS can transfer the so-called "spillover" into EB3 ROW, then into EB3 IN & CH.
Based on available numbers, EB3 India / China will see rapid movement in dates April 09 Visa Bulletin onwards.
What will happen during 2009 in all likely hood is the following,
Almost all EB1 spillover will go to EB3. (~ 25k)
Some of EB1 and all of EB2 spillover will go to EB2 IN/CH (~ 10k to 15k)
In 2009, there will be no more Name Check delays - therefore expect rapid EB3 approvals after April 09.

Interesting...looks like this bill is moving faster than we'd think...it would be interesting to see where it ends up. Also, it appears that this bill does not talk about giving the DV visas to existing EB-X categories but instead to create a new EB category for STEM graduates...not sure, but that's what it sounds like.

I am sure we'll all hear from IV core team when it's time to start our phone and fax campaign in support of this or any other beneficial EB provisions to be included in the supplemental bill, if it ever happens of course.
I believe this is where IV stands in terms of strategy:
For minor/intermediate relief: Supplemental bills.
For major relief: SKILL Bill
