i was talking bout pdfs in the begining of this thread that talked bout some congressional documents requesting higher H1 quotas for fiscal yr 2008 and 2009
:) infact if quota is increased and duplicates eliminated, it ensures complete usage of the new quota (if any )

My point was that it doesn't matter. It represents $1000/ per person, hardly enough to make a dent in poverty. We need sensible labor laws, a pro-business attitude, and that money will return to India.

I am sure we'll all hear from IV core team when it's time to start our phone and fax campaign in support of this or any other beneficial EB provisions to be included in the supplemental bill, if it ever happens of course.
I believe this is where IV stands in terms of strategy:
For minor/intermediate relief: Supplemental bills.
For major relief: SKILL Bill
For everything else: There is CIR :D

I have a medical RFE. RFE asks me to go back to the original Civil Surgeon. Since I have moved to different place going to same civil surgeon is not an option.
Has any one run into similar situation. If so please share your experience.
Maybe the IO is asking you to go to the original civil surgeon so they can make a correction/addition to the original.
I would advise you to get the whole medical redone from a new doctor(close to your home). This way IO doesnot have to compare the original and the additional results as per the RFE.
I went to a different civil surgeon as i had moved to a different state. Some doctors have a standard fee for immigration medical. Best would be for you to get the whole medical redone and submit. Take a copy of your previous medical so they can copy your immunization records. This way you can avoid some vaccinations:)

Thanks pd_recapturing, I'll look forward to your updates as I want to submit my inter-filing as soon as my 2nd I-140 is approved - should take another few weeks considering that we just submitted proof against a RFE.

My friend Cyrus Mehta reports on a disturbing incident that occurred last week at Newark's international airport. Apparently CBP officers got hold of the new Neufeld memorandum on H-1B workers at third party work sites and decided to start applying it on their own. can't even imagine how hard you guys have it, having been waiting for this opportunity for literally years...

These are just guidelines from a law firm. Most of the law firms were making money in porting cases for last two years, as number of new applicants were less due to economy. That does not mean that USCIS is going to approve these cases based on number of years of education. Porting within a company is a risky deal. Even though lawers dont make it sound like a big deal, for getting new clients. The old eb3 job that was used to file the first labor needs to be filled. If you are working with a desi bodyshop, be careful. You are inviting an audit.
