Kindly send letters (preferably signed letters instead of emails) requesting them to kindly also include the EB category immigrants waiting in the line for a very long time. Kindly note that we as a community should help ourselves. Every attempt is worth the effort. If we do not write they will not even think of us. I got FP notice on 8/14 with appointment date on AUG 31. My application received on 7/2 and notice date of 8/2.

Not really, broadly speaking lack of information can never be a benefit to consumer. (Read: hidden clauses in agreements). It might be that they have been doing that and we don't know. You will ONLY know if you apply for another H1B transfer or any other application say I-140/I-485 with new employer and then USCIS MIGHT tell you that your I-140 is revoked on MM/DD/YYYY and you are no longer in valid H1B status since then. That would be too late and it is not retroactive. Remember that onus is on you to maintain valid H1B status all the time during the period of H1B. Once again I am not saying what I mention above is the correct interpretation of law, but in the absence of any clarify it can be one of the implication.

I read a post (sorry dont have the link) that they had juxtaposed first and last names while filling the app - called uscis and got it corrected.

I have sent letter twice. They forward it as it is to USCIS and send a reply back that it has been forwarded to USCIS for action. Then you receive a letter or call from USCIS that your case cannot be considered unless your PD becomes current.

So sad and unfortunate. I'm always surprised with this. USCIS which is supposed to be the expert in approving/denying visa - approves it and some American in Delhi thinks that's wrong without even looking at the packet.

I have EAD for couple of years & when I moved to Ohio, I was issued 4 years DL. They did look at I-94 (I travelled on AP having one year validaty on I-94), also they DID NOT looked at my EAD expiry date..They asked very simple question - Do you have your SSN? Thats it..!

Don't mistake what I'm saying. No question the day will come. Just talking about today and the very near future. Today we have to transmit via phone lines at most all venues. The servers at the bureaus and the newspapers have capacity and time constraints as well. Reviewing, editing, captioning and transmitting 3-4 images in 15-20 minutes is a rat race now. On the other end, photo editors are on time constraints as well. There was nothing shortsighted in what I said. I said 4 mp is needed now for that kind of work, and that's why it's there. Down the road things will change. But we're not down the road yet.
I don't doubt what you say on iota and I've heard stories from the Day in the life of africa talking about the abilities of digital. But I also know the ability of this world to adapt and grow. Today people ay complain about file size but who knows tomorrow. And what about when thos same PJ's want that image for other form factors than may require greater resolution? It's an evolving world and its pretty short sided to believe that a certain file size is all that will be used.

I never said school can force her to maintain F1. All I said was if she wants to be on F1 (for whatever reasons) she needs to comply with school's policies. Also her maintaining or not maintaining F1 is immaterial to her legal immigration status in the country (which is safe by the virtue of pending I-485) it is just that she will cease to be on F1 status (her current non-immigrant status, just obtaining EAD doesn't mean she has abandoned F1 status, she needs to use it)
Also, she will no longer be on any non-immigrant status when school cancels her F1, from that point on her status will solely be based on I-485 and its outcome.
School can't force her to continue on F1 visa. Only thing she need to send school is her copy of pending I-485 receipt and thats it.

How is this possible, EB3 ROW also has a limit to how many they can use correct? They only can use what ever is beyond the 7 % used for India/China/Mexico/Phil (28% in total). Out of 1/3 of the 140K.

I think EB3 - ROW will stop or retro. next month or for sure in the next couple of months back to where they were. Lot of people here are saying that ROW will be current soon I am not sure where they are getting these facts.

ROW is the rest of the world, and yes they get to use ALL of the rest: within ROW spillover occurs from EB-1 to EB-2 to EB-3, so whatever visas are available/leftover will be used up by EB-3 ROW -- they have suffered massive retrogression for many years, and now early PDs will not be stuck in the FBI blackhole.
I am not saying that EB-3 ROW cutoff will necessarily move further forward (i.e forward from Jan05) -- DOS intent is to use up all the remaining greencards -- and it might well be that the current cutoff will achieve that goal -- if it doesn't only then will they move the EB-3 ROW dates forward. Oversubscribed countries get a spillover ONLY if EB-1 ROW + EB-2 ROW + EB-3 ROW still leave unused visas.
