FIRST OFF: Using slang or whatever will NOT hinder you from getting a job in the design field. I love how people who most likely havent worked more than a week at a REAL design studio think they now how the whole system works.
I will tell you all right now, IF your work is good and IF you can show your employer (most likely a smaller company if it'll be your first job) that you can get the job done, he's not going to care if you use the words "dawg" or "aight".
I'll provide two THREE examples of this.
1. I was the Art Director for a small, South Florida based web company called Citracom. We needed a flash developer who was GOOD and wasn't expensive. So we interviewed some people. One fellow by the name of Trevor (whom was & still is pretty darn good at flash) had the whole slang talk thing. But he got the job. He did it well.
2. I worked as a Graphic Designer in the marketing department of a fitness company. We worked on some pretty large clients like Kathy Smith and Prevention magazine. There was a guy who was a little younger than me who did all of our tech support as well as graphics. The kid was great. Yet he listended to rap, said "yo" and to top it off his favorite greeting was "What Up?".
3. And the final example is ME. I got my first web design job when I was in 11th grade. I interned for a company for $8.50 an hour doing HTML and layouts in Photoshop as well as making buttons. I used "slang" and I was young (16 1/2 I believe) and from there I've gone on to work at some pretty decent jobs. In fact this month makes it FIVE years since I started designing for a professional company.
If you guys ever need any tips on picking up a design job, let me know. I'll be glad to help you out.

Get enrolled in GNIIT course. They will teach you Java, .net, networking, datbase, algorithms and everything else that I did not put here and may be after that you can apply in EB-1 category. I am not mad but, if you do not have 4 year college degree, you should not have gone for EB-2 that too with labor substitution. It is a F***ed up system.

Hi Guys,
Could any of you let me know the impact of multiple job changes on AC21, with approved I-140 and after 180 days of I-485 receipt, and with similar job code and description. I changed first on January 25 and now it will be 3 months after the first change. I have following concerns and seek your opinions soon for the decision.
1- Will this quick change be a concern even though I will have same/similar job code as per O*NET and job description and there is no law against it?
2- Should I have, in addition to H1B transfer, another Labor certification started with new employer as a back up?
Thanks guys in advance!

Jun RN ur incorrect....this is the exact quote from the liasion Q/A
http://www.uscis.gov/files/nativedocuments/AILAQandASept2007.pdf
"On top of already high receipts, we saw a dramatic additional increase in July. There were two principal reasons for this added surge. One was the Department of State July visa bulletin, which created an opportunity for hundreds of thousands to apply for permanent residence. While we continue to receipt the work we recently received, we project that we received over 320,000 adjustment applications due to the July visa bulletin. We also received a significant volume of concurrently filed petitions to sponsor the adjustment applicant as an immigrant worker, and over 400,000 applications for ancillary benefits such as employment authorization and travel authorization based on the filing of the adjustment application, for a total of almost 800,000 applications."
once again its 320,000 applications for our calculation purposes.
and 320,000 total I485 apps....they cannot figure our how many unique apps are there on such short notice

Is there anyone on the forum who is currently doing a daily commute between Canada & US in general, or Windsor and Detroit in particular ?
Can you please share your experiences ? Good or Bad
What are the frustrations, hassles, issues in doing this.
I have heard that during work commute hours the cars kleep moving fast and officials doint delay if you have proper papers, but on weekends its a nightmare (so wont affect us).
Any real experiences you can share will be appreciated.
Also p[pl from Detroit, MI can you share info on your city. Major employers, good areas to visit/live, desi life and culture etc.
Thanks

The rule that USCIS follows is that if they estimate that your priority date wil become current within a year they give you a 1 year EAD. When they estimate a wait of more than a year they give a 2 years EAD. ofcourse this is not strictly followed as we have seen cases of people falling through the crack and getting 1 year EAD when their priority date is far in the grey area (1 to 1.5 years from the current date)
Look at the bright side a 1 year EAD means that you will most probabaly be current in a year :D:D:D

IV shoudl push for this legislation.
This is interesting, and if the DV system is taken out, it will help many in the eb category. This is good, hopefully it will come to a vote.
The only way to make sure it comes up for vote, is if we talk about its benefits and benefits of such other bills to our congressmen/women.

They will stamp for the latest i797A. The old one is obsolete. If you notice the I94 numbers are the same.
You are right on the I94 numbers; they are the same. But how come the old one is obsolete. Its valid till June 2007. And the latest 797 is from July 07 till July 2010. They'll have to combine both I797's dates to stamp till 2010 or they'll go with the first 797. Am I right??

I applied for my first 3-year h1-b extention last October.
My H1-b processing or the receipt date is Oct. 26, 2006. The USCIS website showed that California Processing Center are currently processing cases for the date of Jan 13, 2007.
https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/Processtimes.jsp?SeviceCenter=CSC
The only thing i received was the receipt telling me the processing date of my case is Oct. 26, 2006. I paid $1690 for the application fee. I also submitted my I-140 was approved.
I went to the immigration office in downton Los Angeles by using the INFO Pass to find out the case status. All they can tell me is to wait. I asked them as if i need to pay for the premium processing fee and the official told me it would not make much difference.
I wrote the letter to the California Processing Center to find out as if my case is pending anything or if i need to submit additional information . The reply i get was the center is no longer accept any request through mail?
I am getting so depressed as days go by because i do not know what else i can do.
Can someone please give me some advises?
Thanks!

Typical response just to defend......green card might be least of my priorities....but may be its your only priority for you !!!!!
You still haven't shown me the text from any of the three bills that says Masters in STEM are exempt from the EB cap. After all, that's the only thing that will prove you or me wrong.

Dude, what are you talking about :confused::confused: Am I missing any comedy here?
<ul>
<li>You could buy a TV but you will not know when you will get it. It could be shipped the next week, the next month, next year or never.
<li>The credit card may not be charged, may be charged twice or a valid CC may get rejected.
<li>Somebody who buys a TV from USCSIS a 2 years after you do, he may get it sooner than you do.
<li>USCIS has no way of knowing how many TVs have been ordered and how many of them are in stock.
<li>In case you do not receive your TV in two years, USCIS acknowledges that there is a long wait time for some and does not do anything about it.
<li>There would be an online survey after you buy it which would never get submitted 99% of the times.
<li>In case it did get submitted, somebody will read one out of 10,000.
<li>After reading it he will throw it in the trash can.
<li>If you get a defective TV (which is quite likely), you have a chance to file appeal by paying the same amount of money for the TV again so that your case can be re-opened.
I wonder how many customers would USCIS have eventually ??? Any guesses ???
</ul>

I asked my lawyer same question... and she said you can port from EB3 to EB2 using same labor but employer has to withdraw approved I-140 first and this is really dicey.
Best option is to file new PERM + new I-140 and then port the PD
I am going to file a new PERM and new I-140. Assuming the time taken to get new PERM approved is 1 year or 1.5years and than to file new I-140 and to get I-140 approval is going to take a long long time. So my question was after getting the new perm approval can we file new I-140 along with the copy of old approved I-140 from another company or I have to wait to get my new I-140 approved inorder to port priority date. My older I-140 also belongs to EB2 category and new PERM application will also be in EB2.
Thanks.
