Here is one of my friend in the similar situation planning to do. He is filing 485 without any medical exam. Certainly, he is going to get query and after query you have 40 days (double check this number) to reply. So, he'll get some time to go and do wife hunting.
Medical exam is considered part of "intial evidence" for the I485. If your friend files without the medical report, his application will be rejected without an RFE.

its not that simple. were you here in 2000-2002 also? When the whole company is running into major losses complete department and locations get wiped out. Does not matter how critical a resource you are. If the people at the top decide to scrap the product, the team goes with it. Thats how companies like Nortel, Lucent etc manage to go from employment figures of 100K to 30K in a couple of years...

IMO, there could be unfortunate situations for anybody which may seem to be like one will go out-of-status. Best option is go to a good attorney. It is not cheap option but certainly it is best way to get things answered professionally within a specific time period. It will also prevent your case to be wide open on forums for any agency or anti-s to target you. You will also be protected by attorney client confidentiality agreements.
I saw some questions like "I am not working on H1B though I have visa. Or things like "I am not paid on bench. Is that alright". Does it need anybody to confirm that you could be out of status? Quite naive to ask that on forum.
Best option, do not violate any law intentionally. When we take so much care by not even jay-walking, we should be super careful about the immigration laws and statuses.

The problem is that the Speaker and the house leader has some agreement that the only bill that goes to the floor must have the majority of the republicans votes. That is the reality. I am positive that if nothing happen this year, it will happen next year if the house will go under the Dems.
The reality is that a little group of republicans (not even conservator, Mc Cain and Flakle are conservator and you see their opinion) are agianst any type of immigration.

One thing he said is particularly noteworthy. He said, he reads his fellow congressmen and the mood of the House, and at this moment there are 300 congressmen (out of a total of 525) willing to vote in favor of the senate version of the comprehensive immigration bill as it is.
As I said in my posts elsewhere in IV, let's keep our eyes and ears open for the opnions of representatives and follow up on that.

H1 extension was applied in CSC. Yes my attorney should be able to help with a letter. But I'm weighing in options as to what can be done to avoid my H1 extension as I can use EAD.

I did try asking my manager and the vendor if they could mention that the project could go on for another 3 years but was not successful.
The letter that I got from my manager did mention that I have been working for them (client) since jun, 2005 under a contract extendable in 6 month increments and they see a need for me for the forseeable future.
I believe my company has some direct clients... I will ask my employer to attach those contracts as well.

This is just a humour but has a meaning underneath if you try to understand. I am comparing USCIS to a product selling company. If USCIS was a TV selling company what would happen to the customers the way it acts ?

. After 180 days you may leave, but you will have to find a new employer who is willing to hire you on permanent basis upon getting you GC for same/similar job as in the LC. What you do until your GC is approved (contract job with this employer or something else) is a different matter. Those employments can be on EAD, H1, temp/permanent, etc.
What if the job i'm moving to after 180 days is hiring me permanently now itself? Do they still have to specify (in EVL for AC21) that they will hire me perm only upon getting GC?

Different jobs have different requiremends Hi_Nu, for example, a website for a local golf course has different requirements than a huge corporate e-commerce site. I definitely don't know all of those things that you listed "by heart," but I have produced a few quality websites for clients (I am 15). Voets is right, the clients don't usually care how old you are. My clients are always really cool about it and astonished that I am so young and know so much.

along with all the great work being done by IV, I have to admit, the one annoying thing that we have to contend with is the wild speculative rumors that spread like wildfire... can people please stop spreading these and just wait a few hours for the announcement....
