Ok Thanks,
Who signed for your packet at NSC on Jul'23rd? Was it Mr Heinauer? Reason I ask is mine was sent on July 20th but didn't receive receipts yet.
yes, no checks cashed yet, checking my account regularly. the notice date is 21st sep, so I am thinking it might take 3-4 business days for the checks to cash, do you guys think my assumption is right?
Anybody in the same situation?

If you are talking about the discussion. then am referring to the items and not the discussions.Have I missed these items some where that are like the above. Then we are good to go. Can you let me know if the action items already there tries to encompass all thes issues and possible solutions. Ofcourse I know every one is talking and discussing but didn't see a concrete list except a description on the front page saying we are fighting for the cause of GC aspirants and some smaller descriptions.

Mission Statement
The mission of Immigration Voice is to organize grassroots efforts and resources to solve several problems in the employment based green card process including (a) delays due to Retrogression (visa number unavailability for certain employment-based categories) (b) delays due to USCIS processing backlogs and (c) delays due to Labor Certification backlogs. We will work to remove these and other flaws by supporting changes to immigration law for high-skilled legal employment-based immigrants. High-skilled legal immigrants strengthen the United States' economy and help maintain American technological superiority

Proud of you guys who are in DC. No doubt, we have an excellent Team today. Those who are reading silently, ask yourself a question today. Is this the way you want to live by saving those pennies? If not for others, do it for yourself; come forward and contribute. IV is short of funds; If not IV who will fight for your own cause?

We have 8000+ members but only 200+ contributed. I have been thinking about it and here is one possible answer. If you look at the poll result about whether we should push for 485 or not, there are about 280 guys supporting this goal. Maybe almost all recurring contributions are from this group.

What do you want to know? I130 and I485 needs to be filed. Both Counselor Processing as well as AOS allowed.
This is current Priority Date
--- China ---- India
2A 01OCT03 01OCT03 For Spouse and Children
2B 01NOV99 01NOV99 For Unmarried children above 21
For EB based guys, my understanding is that this PD is same as Labor Certification PD which was used for GC - correct me if I am wrong.
Found this one on the internet... maybe someone can help to give more information about K-3 visa ...

Dude,
Nebraska is infact slower than Texas as far I-140/I485 goes. Checkout this link....http://www.murthy.com/news/n_nscexp.html
It says NSC is slower because they have extra VSC cases to deal with but would improve significantly once they are done with VSC cases in future.
My I-140/I-485 was filled in June 2006 too and its being processed in NSC. All we can do is wait and watch...

I applied for my H1B 9th year extension using I-140 substitution in 10th March 2008. My 8th year H1B was expired on 14th April 2008. Currently my 9th year H1B extension was is in pending status. Unfortunately my I-140 was denied on 18th April 2008 due to 4 years Bachelors degree.
I used PERM EB2 labor substitution (May 2006 PD) and filed I-140 in July 2007 and denied (NSC) directly with out RFE. This is due to 4 years bachelor's degree and I have 10+2+3(Diploma) +3 (engineering-AMIE). I already applied my 485, EAD and AP. I got AP and EAD, but didnt use it.
Now how can I get my 9th year extension?
Can I appeal for I-140 and get 9th year H1B extension?
Could you please give me your valuable suggestions on this?
Thanks,
Naga
Get your degrees evaluated by the certified evluators and add your experience to be qualified or you can go for EB 3 but your priority date will remain the same. A friend of mine was in the same boat, but had 3 years commerce college and 2 years MBA from UK and was in his 9th year of H1, I 140 was denied. He appealed and REAPPLIED I 140 with all the evaluations, he got approval in less than a month but EB3 with the same old priority date.
Good Luck..

So sorry to read that story. I wish that family had gotten the help they needed at the right time. I wish he had talked to someone.
You've ever heard of kamikaze missions help by Japanese pilots during world war 2?
They were suicide missions to bomb American targets (like Pearl Harbor) knowing very well they will not come back alive. They would crash their planes into enemy targets laden with a lot of explosives.
Go figure!
In civilian world, there can never be a valid reason to take someone's life. The only exception I can think of is self defence. Or while defending someone who is under attack.
Military or any armed force is different; War is different.
People involved there are trained to follow orders. Their commanding officers give them orders to kill someone, and they follow those orders without question.
War itself is a sorry state brought upon the human kind by humans ourselves. And unfortunately, the commanding officers in charge of an armed force see even the men/women who make up the force as only a means for their objectives; and they use them as they deem necessary.

Good for you!
Well Aug 2008 is way different than May 2009. Dates for EB2 were current for 28 days then (for 2005 and part of 2006) ! They are not now for your PD.
enjoy :)

nobody complains about somebody getting green card getting in six months, infact I know somebody who got green card from india onmployment basis, the problem is people who have waited for 6 years or longer feels the pinch, because
they have followed the law just like the guy who got in 6 months , and they see no light at the end of the tunnel, and frustration to certain degree amounts to anger.
chilllllllll enjoy the system, this is how the system works, like it or not.
thanks
And venting frustration on the forums by posting messages will ease out the situation? Right? And there is no need to explain this unfairness to the lawmakers who are considering various solutions to fix/address all possible immigration related problems. Would cribbing alone about unfairness on this and other forums help bring fairness to the process?

Wow, I am really excited about all the support!
I know that with the weather up north (yep, I am in the deep south) it may seem impossible to train/run/walk now, but you can run indoors on a treadmill, cross train on the elliptical machine and even use indoor running tracks. At my gym, I manage to do 8 mile training runs on the indoor track, guys that is 81 laps around this itty bitty track! :) Nutty? yes; but when you are motivated, you can find a way.
The three national events we pick can be for later in the year, but each Team IV member can run local events (weather permitting) accross the country. The fundraising can be 3 events per Team IV member per year. That would be in keeping with the 3 national events we pick.
My idea is for Team IV members to host a targetted fund raising campaign - which is divided into 3 events over the span of 1 year. I have a host of ideas to present on activities you can do and you only have to choose 3 of them for the year. We can get into these details after I run my ideas by the Coordinator Group.
I am going to set up the Group this week, so those who have responded to me, look out for my e-mail from my yahoo account.
Let me just say this much for now. I have run several long distance races over the past 10 years in the US and each and everytime that I have run for a cause, I found myself more motivated to train and I had more fun throughout the process.
Another point I should have made earlier. America today is concerned about obesity and "which is the fatest or more obese state in the nation". We are constantly seeing news articles and polls about these topics. Let it be know that the legal immigrant community of IV promotes a healthy lifestyle by its Team IV campaign. Another positive spin-off for our community and IV.
Thanks everyone for your support and ideas, I am going to start working with the Senior Members this week.

[QUOTE=beppenyc]The problem in French is different. They bring the immigrants from Africa and North Africa to work to build the subway, La Defense (ask yourfriends),Eurostar ect ect. French has a controll of the number of immigrants, is not so difficult. The problem is that they put the immigrants living in the ghetto (Banlieu) and to not give any hope of future. When all the big project were done, they forced to sent the immigrants home, but without success. If you are really interest to see what is the reality in France, get this movie made in 1997, LA HAINE....
Yes, this is not a linear equation that illegals take American jobs and Amecans do not take menial jobs because of lower pay. If Americans were ever to take such jobs, and pays were higher, it would add to inflation, as beppenyc correctly points out. You have to be able to think strategically to understand this.
Now this issue about fairness for the legal immigrants. Normal wait time for this process is 5 to 6 years, if you are lucky. Which means that lives of such people are on "hold." They can't be promoted, accept salary increases. This is "tacit" exploitation. 5 to 6 years is a long time in US where things are more dynamic. How unfair. Also, per the law any social security they contribute will never be credited back to them because they have to work for atleast 10 years, the work visa duration is six year. Skilled workers make reasonable salaries so this is a huge amount of money which thay might never see.
Perceptions maybe far removed from reality. One of them is that immigrants will continue to bear injustice in US while globalization takes its toll on US competitiveness because of populist measures, that will hurt it in the long run.
